The Tardest Explorer, Teaching in Nunavut

 Well, considering the cold and the conditions, life is still going on pretty good. I visited the clinic last week as I thought I was getting sick . When its too cold like -60c we cancel school. But a few of us believe it should be if our skidoos dont start we should cancel. So we make the best of our situations, brew up for tea Some teachers have to scrape themselves out of their own homes as there is too much ice.

 Being back in the classroom was the tonic I needed. I am back in my element of ESL teaching and I forgot how fullfilled I feel everyday that I help young learners to get to their potential. A major factor that I'm working on with my students is their reading and writing abilities as they are both very low in this area. A major factor is just motivating the students to learning and seeing the spark of achievement I show them just by helping them or showing them that they can actually do it.

 Wonder if they had shotgun shells this week. Just couldn't pass up buying a flask in the shape of a 12 gauge The Northern store in town always has some interesting items. However one does have to special order in items from time to time. The store had Realtree wool blend socks, so I got 6 pairs. I special ordered in an ear cleaner

  Not sure if those explores ate as well as this but with windchill of -60c, beef stew with rice seems good And if you don't have certain items improvise. Cheeseburgers made into streak sandwiches  And get creative, Singapore style noodles But most of all find a way to smile
